Hi I've recently found that this site claims the
copyright for Bloodthirsty Butchers, The Rats Are
Coming The Werewolves Are Here, and also the original
Tod Slaughter Sweeny Todd in perpetuity. They also hold
a couple of very cool George Romero movies...
Sweeny Todd is the first video where I put it together
and realized that there was a 'public domain' :[

This is also unrelated, but Haunts, and House of the Dead
are also 'not available in your country' (America) on youtube.
What do you think?

This site doesn't "claim the rights" to anything but it's own name. THE RATS ARE COMING THE WEREWOLVES ARE HERE and other films are here because they are considered public domain. Poke around and enjoy.

A few companies in the US tried to use GATT to claim copyright on certain films (usually public domain and orphaned films that were made overseas but first published without a notice in the US, like the Andy Milligan films in that list.) I remember someone posted a link to a document from one of these companies about how they make a PD movie appear to be in "good" copyright for registration. If you search around in the forums you'll probably find it.

And, as to their "rights" on the Tod Slaughter films, they are derived from a PD distributor, "Hyams Films" via "Classics Associates" (a company that believes it owns the rights to John Wayne's Monogram pictures). Hyams was incorporated in June 1979 and would have scarce claim on any restored copyright (if the films were even elegible.)

Thanks VC, I guess they sold their claim on to that guy...
Is it this the post? Wade Williams is a genius at
collecting people associated with the production of a film :D
"This is Paolo Heusch's sister."
"I've finally found the cameraman for Beast Of Yucca Flats...Let's get him to the registration office."
